I think currently it is too dependent on a connection. If developers make the game to use The Cloud and then for whatever reason it cannot be connected to, what happens to the game? Is it unplayable? If it's a single player game... well.

Theory is good, I can see the potential but for now it's best kept as 'storage', I feel, unless it's used for online part of a game, obviously you need to be online for it anyway.

People make this argument all the time but what is the difference between this an a MMO.  People that play multiplayer for the majority of their gaming falls under this as well.  The thing is that these outages are more rare now the your lights going out and I have had my lights go out more than I have experience an internet outage just this year alone.  If more games depend on the net then it means companies will be expected to keep things running smoothly just like your electricty.

MP only type of games have been in the market and going strong for a while now so going all online is only the next step.  We already see a lot of MP only games coming to the X1 and PS4 and I expect to see more as time move on.  Because of this change, I see cloud computing adoption going a lot faster than I expected.  Maybe in 2 years we will see a lot of games using it for all types of purposes.
