Like most platforms. Steam too. It's just that Nintendo would loose its identity by going third party, and mostly any interest in their consoles.

Exactly ! Why should they leave their comfortable 40$ per purchase bed....to enter a highly competetive platform that sucks 30% out of every purchase !
