Whut the? You just flip flopped! Definitive/Proper =/= crazy, which is what you said Wii games were. I was asking you how they were crazy, not if they're the best in the series n what have you. Also, it's not really debatable that DKCR is more traditional than DK Bongo Blast lol. |
Oh I see how I what I said is flippy floppy. Yes gamecube had more definitive Nintendo games (Metroid Prime, F-Zero GX, Smash Bros, and Pikmin 1), but Wii had more properly developed Nintendo games. Sunshine was not Super Mario, Mario Kart Double Dash was no Mario Kart, Wind Waker was not Zelda (and I'll defend this, Wind Waker is IMO the worst 3D Zelda, but still good). However on Wii, Metroid Prime 3, Twilight Princess AND Skyward Sword, Galaxy 1 & 2, Smash Bros, Mario Kart, Kirby, etc, etc, all high quality iterations of Nintendo franchises. Wii really didn't bring any franchise down.
So your statement of Wii games being "tame and traditional" compared to Gamecube games is debatable. I wouldn't consider any major 1st party Nintendo game on the Wii tame, maybe traditional, but most Gamecube exclusives have been critisized for being too different.
Plus XenoBlade, I would argue, is Nintendo's definitive JRPG since technically Super Mario RPG was developed by Squaresoft, and Paper Mario is just nowhere nearly as good.
