Yes I have had the game crash on me a few times around the beginning. Just before I hit the 100 hour played mark. After that I save as regular as I can. It's even worse when you are in the Island as you cannot save normally. However if you are spending hours there farming for beetles just do a beginners tour and that will save the game, That way if the game crashed suddenly at lest you wont have lost that 200k worth of beetle farming.. but a little of it.
