Pretty much, yeah. I can't imagine any way that Sony or MS could be as successful in a 3rd party only market, right now anyway. Perhaps their IPs will grow to the level of Mario over time, but I'm not confident.
Also, they won't be bought by Disney, because Disney don't care much. They're not even putting Kingdom Hearts on the Wii U, of course.

Disney cares about acquiring intellectual property without question and most certainly family friendly IP at that. They don't give a crap about one little licensed video game that means practically nothing to their own bottom line.
Saying they have no interest in Nintendo because they of Kindgom Hearts 3 not being on some platform is like saying they would have no interest in Marvel Comics because they cancelled their Mickey Mouse comic book series or something, lol. Disney doesn't give a crap about the comic book industry, but they obviously know Marvel's IP is well worth it for other areas.

Having said that, I don't see Nintendo doing that, because they've said several times they want complete freedom, which is why they have no interest in going 3rd party.
