Lets say you buy a Wii U now, NSMBU and Pikmin 3 will keep you busy for a couple months until 3D World and DKTF come out, then those will keep you busy until early 2014 when Mario Kart 8 comes out. If you wait until Mario Kart 8 comes out then you have a bunch of games you have to play and you might rush through them to play them all, if you get it now you could be playing the games the whole time.

I'm sorry, are you suggesting 2 games can keep you busy for...3-4 months?
The average play time in the United States, at least, is upwards of 13 hours a week. Multiply that by 14 weeks and you have something like 180 hours on average.
...I find it very hard to believe those games wouldn't get stale if you tried to play them 180 hours. And for upwards of $400 US, I'd expect more than that.
