FYI if you are going to see Thor 2 and/or The Hobbit 2, then see these in IMAX or Cinemark XD or whatever. But all other movies are just fine on a smaller screen in 3D, and the screen will look bigger. (for the theater format of the 3D effect in movies this year) |
Most likely The Hobbit 2, since my wife and I saw The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey in 3D last year. The 3D in that was pretty good. Whenever there were scenes where flocks of birds were flying on the screen, my eyelids would flutter involuntarily, meaning that as far as my brain was concerned, the birds were flying right at me rather than just on screen. So, that was pretty cool. Thor 2 looks good, and I will probably see it. But, if my wife and I go to the movies, it's hard to justify spending the extra $12 combined in ticket price on top of the money we'll have spent going out to dinner + popcorn & soda at the theater.
