Yes. Isabelle was introduced because you are the mayor in NL and she is your assistant.

I've encoutered Pascal. He came around when I snatched up a mollusk or something. I'm pretty sure he asked if he could have it, then he ate it. (You actually have to let him go off screen for him to eat the mollusk, then you'll hear munching noises.)

it's a scallop when you dive into the sea ground and he will only see you once a day .   He has a rare collection of pirate furniture which cannot be bought only traded.

Also the reason why people are going crazy over the furniture collection is to increase their HHA scores.  Talk to Lyle inside Nooks estates.   The higher your score you will recieve rare house items too to boost that score.  See there is a scoring system in this game too.   If you build a basement use it for storing your junks if you want to.  I have read that the basement and anything put there is not included in your HHA score.  You might find collecting furniture pieces a vital part of your AC experience!

Also there is something called  Feng Shui which is implemented in this game.  Feng Shui is the ancient chinese art of placement which has an effect on your luck throughout your life !!  In this game the Feng Shui system is a little different to the real life one.  But anyway...

Furniture and items can be categorised in 4 colors.  Green, Red, Blue, Yellow.  Some items can be categorised with 2 colors. But I am not going into too much detail on this and try to keep it simple.  The blue items basically don't have an effect so can be placed anywhere but especially placed in the north part of any of your rooms.

The other colors :

Yellow represents money,  If you would like to earn more bells in this game place yellow items to the west side of any of your rooms.

Red items should be placed to the East side of any of your rooms.  It represents improving luck in obtaining rare items.  Might also help in Reds fake art sale, when he appears in your town the chances of one of those art works appearing genuine the chance will increase.  It's very unlucky when all art works being sold by red at the same day are fake :(

Green items should be placed in the south of any of your rooms.  Ie green furniture, house plants, bonsai, cactus etc.  Green represents overall good luck.  such as having rare fish and insects appearing.

Below is an image giving you an idea of the space where you should put these coloured items.  They basically consist of the size of your room expansions.  The color system again,  Yellow = West, Red = East,  Green South,  Blue and other colours north or centre of the home.  When placing furniture you need to imaging your room floor having an invisible grid depending on what expansion you got but basically you have about 2 x grid spaces wide regardless of the length of room.  AC veterans would probably know about this anyway since the feng shui system is not new to AC games.
