Treyarch handled the Wii porting of IW's Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 3 as well, it's kind of their unofficial role; doing Nintendo ports of IW's COD games.

but they dont need to do that anymore, the WIi was very different to PS360 the WII U isnt so that much change isnt needed to get  WII u version up and running.

Maybe IW were snowed under from making the other 5 versions .That's about the most sensible answer I can come up wirth, as it does seem a strange choice now that the porting process is no longer a round-peg-into-a-square-hole deal.
