we havent even played it yet!

Most of the time you don't need to play a game to know if its gonna be good or bad.

When this is the case you should actually do research. People who played the thing behind closed doors and not on the show floor explained that the combat will be like Arkham City. The E3 demo we saw and what people played ont he show floor was a watered down combat system.

At SDCC the people behind this game said we will be seeing the same demo soon, but with the full combat in the game and ready to go.

Yeah the combat seems to be exactly like Batman and Assassins Creed.

And just like the combat of those games, the challenge comes with perfecting the system...ie. the system is meant to make you feel powerful.

Its a great system IMO.

However the optional QTE's or whatever they are...come up with every kill it seems. Its too much. They need to make it similar to god of war where its optional to go into the mini game/qte/sequence or whatever you want to call it. Or a execution system where you build up momentum and then use it for execution.

They just need to tinker around with the execution system and then I'll buy it in a heart beat. I'm a big fan of batman/AC combat

Crytek mentioned that you can turn off the QTE prompts and play the game just by going by the animations.  When you see your guy do a specific animation you can use muscle memory to do the execution moves thus giving the game a hardcore appeal.  I am not sure I am sold on Ryse gameplay but I am interested to see the complete game in action and how they flesh out the combat.  There are a  bunch of reports out there which hails the combat as great and others as medicore
