Simulation sports wouldn't really appeal to the current Nintendo base. They're a reason why the gamey arcade feel of Mario Kart works. If they wanted to sell to the Nintendo base, they would make it more like MK.
If they wanted to attract some of the dudebro base, then that's a whole different problem. I don't think spending millions on licenses will be worth the return.
They better off having arcade sports. They could use another one like Mario Kart.
