A tree stump is a dead player who can still post, right? Is that exactly what your power does or is it different?

The way I understand it is that if a player is (or becomes) a tree stump, they cannot be nightkilled, lynched, or removed from the game in any way, but also cannot cast official votes nor use whatever powers they might have had before becoming a tree stump.  Presumably this would also neutralize mafia as a threat to town (while letting them continue to post, and possibly post in the quicktopic).  i.e., if mario hypothetically stumped the last mafia I believe town would win since mafia would be powerless. 

Therefore, benao is useless to us.  We can either test his claim by trying (and probably failing) to lynch him, or lynch someone else, but the population is effectively 6 for the purpose of lynching scum, so if we mislynch then we could potentially lose, unless I am mistaken. 

I suspect nothing would happen if benao gets a majority vote, since tree stumps can't be lynched, but depending on how spurge operates it is possible that the day would end with a failed lynch.  Can you tell us which of those things would happen, spurge?
