Doesn't matter if they had the legal right, it was stupid to even try to enforce the EVO tournament to not have their game.

Seriously, aside from the fact that most favor Melee over Brawl, what harm is there in having your game featured in a major competitive video game tournament? I haven't heard of any Pokemon tournaments being shut down, why go after EVO? The only thing I can think of might be due to language of some of the commentators or the fact that it is showing the game played at a higher then normal playing level (which word has it Sakurai and others at Nintendo think make it harder for newer gamers to enjoy).

Either of those reasons are foolish and short sighted and I hope I am jumping to conclusions but I can't think of why else they would want to have a Smash Bros game pulled or not streamed online.

It seems like someone at Nintendo has no idea what they are doing in terms of maintaining public relations as well as understanding how online displays of their games can help strengthen or build potential customers for the product. I can't imagine someone as smart and with as much experience as Reggie being behind this so it makes one wonder.
