Hate to bring up a dead thread, but after finding out that Pikmin 3, and Mario Kart 8 only render in 720P and upscaled to 1080P, I have every reason to believe none of these games run in native 1080P. Needless to say, I'm not as impressed as I was before and honestly this changes my answer to yes, these games most certainly could be done on current generation platforms.
