As of late, Sonic is  going back to the roots with Colors/ Generations/Lost World ( THANK GOD), Aonuma is talking about Zelda U going back to the non linear roots of the franchise ( THANK GOD), there are other franchises that should go back to their roots:

                1. Resident Evil- Everyone keeps bringing up  a RE reboot for good reasons. Capcom has been talking about RE going back to the scary roots. RE: Revelations was cool and all , but I want a CONSOLE RE game to be scary and non linear. Yes, I hated  how linear RE5 and RE6 were. RE4 to a smaller extent since that one had some exploration. Linear gameplay is gonna be my main complain for most of the following games so prepare.

RE7 doesn't need to have the tank controls, but a RE4 control scheme would be perfect.  Make RE7 less linear,  scarier and add the RE4 controls and RE7 could the best RE since RE4 ( 2005).

               2. Final Fantasy- Another obvious one. FF15 looks awesome and all,  but I would like to see how a FF game that is going back to the roots of FF6 and FF9 would be. Make it LESS LINEAR because FF13's linear gameplay PISSED ME OFF. I can get past the fact that FF13 is  not turn based even though I would like a FF reboot to have turn based combat, but I can't get past the linear gameplay.

Why? FF9 was perfect. It had non-linear gameplay, it had a medieval theme ( something the FF reboot should also try), it was turn based and the characters were likeable. I would love a FF reboot to have just that. Non-linear gameplay,  medieval themes, turn based combat and likeable characters.

               3.  Star Fox- It's nothing hard. Take the awesome bosses, cheesy dialogue, fast paced gameplay and add HD graphics and  online multiplayer. Is that simple. Just don't put foot missions because that would just destroy the idea of Star Fox going back to the roots that made it great to begin with.

              4. Duke Nukem-  Oh boy. Gearbox destroyed Duke, but there is still hope. Forever despite being a game from 2011, it had graphical issues that wouldn't be OK even in a 2006 game. Leaving graphics aside, a Duke Nukem reboot would be great, because I hated the 2 weapon limit from Halo. It's Duke for God's sake, was that shit necessary? Regenerating health ALSO from Halo is not something I liked. I don't hate Halo, but this kind of shit DOESN'T BELONG in a Duke Nukem game.

Also, do I need to mention linear gameplay? Yeah. What I liked about Duke Nukem back in the day was how you could explore and find items that you could use and find monsters to shoot. That was awesome. Forever has a 2 weapon limit, regenerating health, linear gameplay among other problems. We need a reboot SOON!

             5. Metroid- Other M sucked. Sorry, folks. Linear gameplay and a crappy story just ruined Other M. I know other M was supposed to back to the roots of Supee Metroid but it failed. Since when was Super Metroid was a linear game? Exactly. A  Metroid reboot or really any Metroid game ( except Other M 2) could solve  this issue.  Also, don't have a confusing and crappy storyline. Have a great storyline that will not bore the player. Also have a great world to explore.  " Explore" is the key word.

What series do you think should go back to their roots besides the series I just mentioned?
