So, why people are complaining about Super Mario 3D World levels having a less open world than previous 3D Mario or the presence of a timer ? Why are they fearing the absence of an overworld ? Well they all do belong to the same mario brand that extends to diff game play series, but retains familiar characters so yes. I don't consider it a new ip unless they change the setting/story and characters.
