I agree with every one of your points above, except about the gamepad, since I haven't tried it for fps yet. And that's one of the problems facing CoD on Wii U. What needs to be done is getting a online comunity going.
I think Wii U has sold somewhere between 3m-3.5m....

If Nintendo can get a strong online community that would definitely help tho I rarely hear as much about it compared to PSN and XBL.
The Wii U gamepad is fine to play FPS, but competitively you don't want to use the gamepad screen as you just want to stay focus on one screen. The devs for BO2 even said that they suggest playing with the regular Wii U controller than the gamepad. I can imagine the hardcore FPS players using the Wii U gamepad then get mad and throw the controller since they do that with normal controllers also lol
3-3.5mil seems to be alright but they really need something more ground breaking to push the sales more.

Yeah, Miiverse is a great start, but it's not quite the same thing as PSN or XBL...
Yeah that sounds about right! But I'd think that if you're playing online you'd use the pro controller instead...
Yeah, they should have had some system sellers quite some time ago! they're coming by the end of the year, but question is if it isn't too little too late then...

I thought that the NSMBU was a nice launch title and definitely helped push some sales but felt the momentum kind of stopped there. I'm really excited for Bayonetta 2 and Project X but I doubt they'll be strong enough to be a system seller.
I keep saying that Nintendo's trump card is an actual Pokemon home console RPG game and/or a Pokemon MMO.
I think it's still not too late for Nintendo and still have alot of fight left in them to not be overshadowed by the other next gen consoles but time will tell.
