If Nintendo was the only console manufacturer around, would 3rd parties support Nintendo systems?

Actually doubt it. Look at the handheld front, for instance. Western third parties have almost entirely migrated to mobile. They could easily ditch sideways to PC (especially since PC's in vogue with some, like Cliffy B, due to its lack of used games)
