You can get a 10th villager and still have the tent meaning the 11th villager will just be visiting.
you have to be very persistent when talking to them till the option to ask them to stay then you play a game.
my advice is to put all your valuable tools away and only have fruit or furniture you don't mind losing. When trying to do this task as I almost lost my axe to one of the mini games.
you have the option to reject the other games as you might lose a lot of bells. Also make sure you like this visitor before trying to get hem to stay.
