I was wondering can't they do multi layers on DVD9 ????

well anyway.... this is really a non issue.... IMO.... if you have 60 bucks for a game I'm sure you can save up 10 more for a USB key by launch now that you know.... and I don't know why but I don't see the kind of crowd that buys GTA being the same that bought arcade XB 360.....

DVD9 holds about 8.5gb data ??? so since there is an 8gb mandatory install for both formats. I'm sure they are already using dvd9 for the 360 version.

But it looks like it's going to be about 16gb game in total.  8gb data install for textures and sound etc and the other 8gb dvd is the actual data game disc if that makes sense.

the (modern) 360 disc can hold up to 7.95GB of game data, the rest is reserved for anti piracy measures.

Of course 16GB would be the absolute maximum (on 360. It can very well be bigger on PS3 and PC). While one of the discs is already confirmed to be 8GB, I don't think that the second disc will be maxed out.
