I don't know. As long as third parties don't step up to promote and advertise their own content on Nintendo platforms, there's not much that could be achieved by a Nintendo Direct.

The Wonderful 101 is a first party game.

Nintendo owns W101? Cool, didn't know that.

Third parties are failing to step up to the plate, its true, and that's why Nintendo should step in to help, not just for the sake of third party game sales, but to help their console's image by showing they're not lacking in non-Nintendo games. The Directs seem to reach a lot of Wii U owners, surely at least some would be more likely to get Batman, Rayman, or Watch Dogs if a Nintendo Direct pitched it to them. It would be like their beloved company giving these games a "seal of approval."
