Yeah, half of their IP's never get new installments.

Not true. What about Punch-Out and Kid Icarus? Those were ressurrected from the depths of Nintendo history. Also, I do agree that they need to have more 1st party studios, so they could release lower-selling games alongside the high-selling ones. Right now, they release the high-selling games first and some of the low-sellers at the end of the generation, and that's not exactly a good thing.

What about F-Zero, Starfox, wave race, 1080p snowboarding, and Metroid? You showed exceptions, but generally Nintendo ignores some great franchises.

There have been 3 main series Mario games, 3 Zeldas, and 4 Metroid's in the last 2 gens. With Metroid, that's not ignoring a franchise, that's over-producing an overrated franchise.

If your only going to count 3D mario, then sure there have been more Metroid. Doing so though is just a way to drive home your point, and doesn't accurately reflect how it actually is. Since the DS/Wii era, there have been: 8 Mario games (only counting platformers) with one on the way, there have been 4 Zelda games with 3 on the way, there have been 3 Metroid games with none on the way (two of those three were godawful, and don't even really count)

So really, there has been one "true" Metroid game in the last gen.

Calling it overatted? Play games like Skyward Sword, and SM3DL and talk to me about overrated.

SS was a great one to introduced new Zelda players (I've introduced my cousins, GF, a few friends) and the motion control was cool IMO, and 3D land was great for a handheld Mario game, what's wrong with them? XD
