Animal Crossing definitely bigger on handheld, it's a game way better suited to handheld than Zelda. One of the best handheld suited games.
Zelda is one of the main attractions to the home console industry on the other hand. Although the series has declined in stature, but all it will take is one great Zelda to win its image back.
I don't know which is bigger overall.
I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.
