The only people who buy these things are the people who will never ever pay for a game, thus hurting the very companies they "support".

So not true...

Having all my DS games on a single flashcart with me is very, very convenient. Add to that backing up/downloading saves, cheats, quicksave, undubs, fan translations, homebrew... many many awesome things that a flashcart can enable.

Also when my DS got stolen, I was very glad I lost just the flashcart instead of many of my games on cartridges.

With the exception of cheats, undubs, and fan translations (not including homebrew because you can't even do that on 3DS yet), the 3DS already has a way for you to do some of these things.  eShop download to have them all in one place, back-up just came around, and there are a lot of games with the quicksave function now.

3DS can do DS homebrew, just nothing that uses the 3DS capabilities.  He also mentioned DS games, not 3DS games, which you can not download via e-shop.  I agree the 3DS already has many of the advantages of the card.  I might like the idea for a 3DS flashcart at some point because of the region locking on the system, but as I can download games via e-shop and because Nintendo is doing a great job at localization, I'm not worried about it.  I'm glad they blocked this cart, becuase I know that 95% of the people that use it are using it to pirate software.  Still glad I have my DS cart though.
