Where did you read that from? It clearly said 3DS on the article.
Also that's a really dumb reason for defending flashcards. The 3DS has a lot of support for downloading your retail games onto your SD card, that should be enough.

No flash card worked for 3DS games for the longest time, they worked for DS games on the 3DS only, so Nintendo was not losing sales on 3DS game because of it (although they still sell DS games, the effect was not the same.) Apparently this had changed in the past month of so (just skimmed the opening post, sorry.) I chose not to upgrade my firmware because I don't feel like dragging all my DS games around. I'm not saying it's right, I'm not saying Nintendo is wrong in doing this, it is absolutley what they should do to combat piracey. It's just not going to stop me from doing what I do.

People like you who would rather buy a 80$ device + the price of SD cards than buying legit games are losers and rats. That's what I think. I am glad Nintendo is owning the piracy scene so much with the 3DS.
With all the security, the update, the online, piracy will never become big on 3DS and the sales won't be impacted.

Did you read anything I wrote? I'm a rat because I want to use a device I purchased the way I want to use it? I OWN EVERYONE OF THE GAMES I PLAY. It is just all of my old DS games, which I still own, on that card. I bought the 3DS day one, and I own more then 30 3DS games on it if you add virtual console (but not ambassador) and E-shop titles... which I own digitally. If push comes to shove, I will just not use this card if it effects me using the E-shop, and now that I've looked into it seems like this block is for the new 3DS flash cart which I have no intention of owning anyway.
