By same architeture I refer to modern effetcs, as in DX11 equivalent and shaders for example. I'm not saying it's the same to program, I'm saying Wii U can do all that Ps4 and Xone can, with the difference being raw power only, and not that big anyway. |
So far, it seems that WiiU's GPU is 10.1 equivalent with some things from DX11 thrown in into its API (this was actually hinted quite a while ago in those articles about Unity 3D on WiiU).
Also, this http://nintendoeverything.com/125742/kingdom-hearts-iii-all-but-ruled-out-for-wii-u/
might be SE bollocks not to support WiiU, but it seems they are not the first one to state that.
Still, when publishers decide not to port to WiiU and to port to PS360, it's obvious it's nothing but a business decision.
As for difference in power - I honestly encourage you to go and look at benchmarks and/or 3D Mark GPU scores of 4650/5550 GDDR3 (though former seems more and more likely) vs 7850/7870 and decide for yourself is that a big difference or not.
Few years ago, those rumors of 4850 equivalent GPU inside looked very promising...really wish they've come true.
