But they didn't, cause it's a japanese game. It also got mixed reviews. TLoU reviews are stellar. First week sales will be comparable, aprox 1,3m. And we'll be seing less than 1/6th of the sales. |
But that 550k is more than most games. The Japanese market is much smaller than the US market, and getting 6 figures is impressive. A title breaking half a million is very good, especially for a Western IP. Just a little over 100 titles break 100k in a year.
Go and look back at sales of the games, and you'll see that good Western games sitll do well. This is despite the fact that they rarely feature good localizations and there is very little if any marketing for the game (remind anyone of a common trait with Japanese games in the West). You'll also find that only ~125 games even break 100k in a year.
