I agree with Miyamoto, but also Miyamoto you need to understand that a new IP has a value that a new game with the same IP doesn't present.

Sorry brah.

I like that Nintendo keeps each of its core franchises fresh and keeps pouring some awesome talent into making great and familiar family friendly games. The problem with Nintendo is that gap between those franchises "refreshes".

When they do a new game concept, they tend to start at 1980 Mario Bros level... instead of putting the new IP released at the Mario Galaxy production level. This is one area where Sony excels by putting their full talent/budget on a new game concept and new IP like the recently released The Last of Us... they didn't relegate it to an indie budget... they went all out.

Nintendo absolutely goes all out for games like Pikmin, Zelda, Mario etc... but then they completely sink other concepts by making that as cheaply as possible and poorly marketted. Xenoblade Chronicles only had Japan release and not much of a push in the US even when it was finally released here. There are many issues that Nintendo needs to get better on while they need to maintain the quality of productino they put behind their core titles.
