Check this out.. and you tell me... http://youtu.be/76QgbTDxxj0 (I think I made a fair comparison quite honestly) But the fact is.. you can play games on and off TV.. you can search for things right off your TV Screen apparently.. etc. etc.. but the bottom line is... it helps consoles in the future to a point by adding to what a "Console can do" and if you don't have the money for more expensive tablets and you like games.. this is a decent option... anyway you could ask the same question of every console this generation.. they all have potential.. because consoles go in your living room... where tablets are seen as Bedroom/Travel devices.. And no I don't agree with the motion control thing entirely.. because there was games on the smart phones you could play that had motion controls.. it's not all about new tech in general.. it's about adding to consoles.. and as thus your living room.. which the Wii U does.. with the gamepad.. maybe not as much as the Wii did... but it still adds something.. they are not just repeating.. something like Kinect... |
I already know that video and again, nothing that improves gameplay. The ability to switch between screens does nothing to improve the main gaming experience of the console. The Wii Mote got the whole family to play and in an active way. You don't get that with Wii-U. Nintendo knew that what made Wii a big succes where the motion controls so they needed to think of something new that would do the same. They saw that tablets were gaining popularity fast and decided to use a tablet like controller. They thought wrong.
Even Nintedo themselves don't really use the tablet controller in any of their big games, they all play fine without it.
