If developers are unable to fit all the content on one cartridge, include another one. Halfway through the game ask to switch to second cartridge. This has been around for years and there is no reason it cannot be done for vita also.

That's a possible solution, but a troublesome one. First, it requires the entire game be structured around being split in half. That means no open world, having one copy of the game engine per cartridge, etc. Second, there's the matter of carrying over save files. The only way it could work is to require games to be saved onto the memory card as opposed to within the cartridge. Third, it's expesnive. Each card only costs a couple of bucks to make, but unless they're willing to add $5 or $10 to the final price, that's a large portion of the actual profit made from a game.
