Presumably, this isn't helping the US, in terms of expensive purchases:
The US was in recession from late 07' to early 09', but household income (median income, usually from two earners - a man at $33,000 and a woman at $21,000, lowered by some homes only having one earner) kind of died starting in 2010, what had been $56,000 in 2008-2009 fell to $51,000 in 2013 dollars.
