I can't believe you actually said that Remedy games share the same spirit as Quantic's, though. That's wrong on so many levels.

The only reason Alan Wake was touted as competition is because they were both exclusive to different consoles. It was a matter of Heavy Rain (Ps3) vs Alan Wake (Xbox 360). Alan Wake is marketed as a psychological actoin thriller indeed. The game itself is narrated into a TV series estructure. Outside of that, Alan Wake has a very strong story, a solid gameplay (albeit repetitive by the end of the game) and a killer soundtrack.
