As for Disk Rot, there is a solution....install the physical copy of the game onto your console while you can. There problem solved.

 

I'm not concerned about disk rot, emulation has made huge advance over the last decade.

That too, but we're talking about owning physical media versus digital. Emulation is an arguement against owning physicial, and well....making legal game purchases.
