It isn't piracy. It's VGChartz' odd tracking between what is Europe and what is "rest of the world".

No Pokemon game has sold more than 1 million in "rest of the world", barring Black/White. Yet Black/White sold 3.14 million in "rest of the world" and just 0.58 million in Europe. Meanwhile, the sequel, Black and White 2, sold 1.17 million in Europe (double of Black/White) and just 0.37 million in "rest of the world".

Piracy has nothing to do with it. That would make the enourmous increase with Black/White 2 make even less sense. It's simply VGChartz' having confused its numbers for what is Europe and what is rest of the world somehow.

Ooh, I see it now. The numbers for what is "Rest of the world" and what is "Europe" are simply swapped. Just check the yearly charts for Europe - Pokemon Black/White passes 2.5 million in 2011 on that. There's some weird bug there too, though, as in 2012, it turns into being simply "Pokemon Black version", and the numbers still never reach up to 3.14 million.

In other words, the Pokemon Black/White numbers in Europe are a complete mess. They're definitely supposed to be over 2.5 million, though.

Piracy has absolutely nothing to do with it.
