According to David Gibson, an analyst, Nintendo announced at their behind the scenes meeting taking place at E3, that Nintendo plans to boost digital sales with New Super Luigi U and their first Free-to-Play game.
Megaton in my opinion. Never thought I would see the day where Nintendo would do a Free-to-Play game.

At Nintendo's Investors meeting in April, Iwata did announce that Nintendo was exploring free-to-play models or subsciption based models doing so however, with new IPS, not through their traditional packaged software such as Pokemon and Mario.
