As far as things go, those third party titles will do well if they got sales up to double what they are now...which is to say they won't help much at all. Regarding First Party, I expect Mario, Donkey Kong, and Wii Fit (provided it launches in 2013) to do well, Windwaker to do okay, and the rest to do slightly below Windwaker (also, I thought Yarn Yoshi was in there, but I don't remember where". The first two weeks after they come out, I expect sales to pop above 100k, 300k for the big 3 titles. When all's said and done...I expect sales around 3,000,000 consoles from August to 2014. |
Wishful thinking?
No.
Many games have been announced through their investors meetings report. Furthermore, the 3DS XL was announced via a Nintendo Direct following E3.
Nonetheless, Nintendo is in a difficult position and I don't see them ''winning'' the holiday season without either a price cut or a 349.99$ bundle with 3D Mario included. Furthermore, in my opinion, Nintendo needs 1 more AAA game in their arsenal for their holiday line-up: Donkey Kong + Mario 3D will not cut it. Pokemon Stadium Wii U to tie in would be a great addition. Hopefully Nintendo realises this.
