It looks like 3DWorld is to 3DLand as NSMBWii is to NSMB, so the chances are I'll like the Wii U version better. I'll buy it. I kinda have to; there's no replacement for Mario. Wonderful 101, Bayonetta 2, and Project X do look fantastic and fresh, but they aren't by any of Nintendo's internal dev teams(Namely EAD). They're the ones I'm really disapponted in. That said, A Link Across Worlds does have me really excited, Pikmin 3 has me hyped(though it took way to long to develop), and basically everything they've announced for 3DS so far looks great, but I guess I just expected more from their entrance into the realm of HD gaming. If you're right about there being a proper 3D Mario in the works, then I may have something to look forward to, but I'll be keeping my hopes well in check from now on. |
I think it's more than safe to assume that there is a proper 3D Mario and 3D Zelda in the pipeline and you will be satisfied in the long run. This is only the first year of the U, we have a lot to look forward to, and I'm personally already more than pleased with Smash (will be buying a U just for that if the 3DS doesn't suffice) as well as with Mario Kart 8, the rest will come in a year or so and I will have more than what I need personally. I think you'll be more satisfied in a year or two, when those games come out. If I thought like you, I would have lost all hope in a proper smash sequel, which we all know was never an option.
To expect a proper 3D Mario and 3D Zelda is not wishful thinking, it's not getting hopes up, it's just reasonable. I have high hopes for your satisfaction in the coming year or so.
