Wasn't the X360 launch abnormal though, in that it was in very limited supply? Also, expectations were low, MS coming from Xbox. This time Xbox will have an established user base.
A more normal console launch is around 2 million during the first holiday season. PS3 1.3 million, Wii 3.0 million, Wii U 2.3 million.
Also I believe console launches will be more frontloaded than they were in the past. People are more informed today and they've gotten more used to buy new expensive devices (smartphones, ipads, TVs).
I would say it will sell on par with the Wii U.
