Many people, devs, publishers whatever have said the same about second hand being a problem.

EB here in Australia have a rewards system that rewards you more for buying second hand games and trading in.

It's a problem.

the solution however should not be to punish buyers of your product with cumbersome DRM,  incentives customers to buy new. out of my collection (just short of 100 games for XB/360) only a handful of games are used (7) and either i could not find them new or I was so unsure i would like the game i bought it used.

why are used sales not as much a problem for movie industry or music? of you say other streams of revenue then perhaps video games should expand their revenue streams with paraphernalia.  games companies seem to be using used game sales to brush off poor management practices in the industry which have lead to losses on ventures.

and if they had good first practices on the first sale, there would not be such a large second hand market
