It's always the dillema if your newer systems are struggling like current main Nintendo's console are (mainly Wii U, 3DS isn't maybe super-hot but the sales are good).

You can make a price-cut for the last-gen offerings but it will only make them more appealing, which may turn to under-cut the sales of newer consoles. I think, judging by the Wii sales in US and Europe compared to the Wii U sales in those regions, they shouldn't go with any other price cut, and after this holiday season just cease the production of the Wii, only clearing the stock that is left. Wii U already will have steady competition this year with PS3/PS4/Xbone it doesn't need to compete with the Wii and Nintendo will have a milestone 100 million selling console.

It's a smaller issue with the DS as the demand is really low, and 3DS sales look stable and shouldn't be under-cut by a DS price reduction, not that it will have much of an effect in my opinion anyway.



So it is happening...PS4 preorder.
