Objectively, it has the friendliest learning curve. Much to learn if you want to master it, but easy enough to play so that you don't just feel like you're hitting buttons randomly.

That's so true, and I love that about SSB. Friends who've never played can join in on the fun. We just add some handicap points, and voila!
