Then they should have just held off until E3. Setting aside the disasterous details that came out after the reveal. The conference was a complete waste of time. The truth of the matter is hardcore gamers are the ones that will be buying the XB1 initially. The mainstream consumer that these features are ultimately targetting won't be snagging the console until year two or three at the earliest.
I have to question MS' strategy on the whole. Instead of building interest in the Xbox One, they've managed to kill interest in the console. Some of their most ardent consumers are have been completely turned off. In addition to going after new consumers, they are going to have to convince some of their most hardcore fans to give them the time of day.
