I feel like this could be a scenario for some cheap comedy. This guy trying to pretend like he is some great thinker of the time and comes out with an experiment that is supposed to be genius and bold and exciting, but really its stupid or useless but because of his perceived stature everybody pretends to understand the experiment. Or maybe that was the experiment? He is just trying to see how many people embrace a stupid idea if a person of stature endorses it...
