Yes. It will compete with a $99 360, just as it will be competing with the Wii U, the PS3 and the Xbox One.
Theyre all competing with eachother. The Vita is competing with the PSP right now, as well as the iPhone.
Dedicated gaming handhelds arent doing too great now because its a totally different market. With handheld gaming, you have direct competition from mobile phones, something you carry around with you at all times and is capable of playing games. You have a £400 piece of hardware in your pocket that is capable of playing videogames of all shapes and sizes.
With a videogames console the priority is videogames. Its not apps. Its not watching TV. Its not browsing on the Internet. Its videogames. The rest is an afterthought.
