Your friend can play the game as much as they want with the disc, but if they want to play it directly off of the hdd they have to pay a fee. I'm not sure what's so bad about that... Why is no one reading the actual article?

Where are you getting that from? It's not from the article...

This is a hilarious f*** up from Microsoft in terms of PR. Bad at the end of the day, but it could be worse.

Events in order:

1) Fee is required!

2) Fans are outraged and internet explodes

3) MS Twitter says: "Fees are NOT required!"

4) People around the internet sigh and say "thank god!" while others say "do you honestly trust their Twitter people"

5) Bam. Harrison confirms there is a fee.

6) But, he also confirms that you can play the game for free on *the same console* across multiple accounts.

yes there is a fee if your frined wants to keep the game and install it to there console.

from the article

This suggests that the purported "fee" is really just a game sale that you could happen to attain through a friend's disc, but you could just as well borrow a game without purchasing indefinite access to it.

Exactly, which means they only pay a fee to play the game without the disc. Otherwise it's business as usual!

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.
