Yes it will. It's a name franchise with a fanbase. It's not like bagging Final Fantasy or COD, but it does strengthen Wii U.

Nintendo doesn't need Sonic, but ok I guess. 

True, they don't NEED it, but it still helps to have a notable exclusive.

I don't know about another 3D sonic game. Generations was fun on my laptop though.
