It's nowhere near it. Xbox 360 and Ps3 have both recently been the best console in terms of sales for any given year. 2011 was 360, 2012 was Ps3 and 2013 isn't even half way through yet but the ps3 again is looking likely. It has sold at a faster rate since launch but it still hasn't outsold the 360.

I know the PS3 isnt 9 million ahead. I am saying year for year the PS3 sold 9.9 million more (as in PS3:2006-2013- 36:2005-2012). This means that the PS3 sold faster in the same amount of time as Microsoft. So in the end next gen when Microsoft faces Sony head to head for the first time. Analysts had predicted the PS3 would outsell the 360 in 2011 since the PS3 outsold the 360s first year even at $20. That means that this time next year the PS3 will probably be at 85-87 million in sales.
