Oh, Pocahontas. If only you were real (at least your Disney animated self) ... now we're getting into some mature territory ;).

Yeah, Disney's sexulization of their (mainly more recent) characters is well-known. Trying to get the adult male in the theaters, because young children can't drive on their own.

Nintendo is definitely not guilty of the same thing ever... >_>

Disney women have always been sexualized to a degree. Sleeping Beauty is pretty easy on the eyes. And of course there's Jessica Rabbit.

I think it's dependant on what is acceptable or attractive for the time period. Comparing Snow White to Ariel... yeah.

In a lot of ways I think Disney is more mature than Nintendo ... any type of romantic relationship in Nintendo's games is usually fairly neutered or kept to an asexual "just friends" minimum, lol.

In The Lion King for example it's fairly obvious (even shown on screen) that Simba "hooks up" with Nala, but I think Nintendo would take issue with a game doing that even in the context of Zelda or Metroid.

Nintendo's really puritan, their ideas on relationships are kinda stuck in a 1950s timewarp, haha. Kid Icarus Uprising was kind of surprising to me in that sense, it kind of tip-toed beyond that and felt a bit more like a 90s Disney cartoon. The story felt much more progressive than a Mario or even Zelda game.
