it's not only the price they would have to pay, the studios would have to release their games on a console with only a very small userbase. gta only for wii u? that would be a financial disaster. not to forget that they would have to start making those games for wii u first and would have to discard the games they worked on for ps360 or nextbox and ps4.
it would costs nintendo billions and not only what they have to pay for the stakes.
if it would be that easy, microsoft would have bought some huge studios long time ago and would never have a problem with enough exclusives anymore.
