| TheLastStarFighter said: Thread after thread about how EA hates Nintendo. No sports games on Wii U is an issue. Nintendo should say fine, if you won't bring your games to Wii U we will become your biggest competitor. Take-Two's market cap is about $1.4 billion US. Nintendo could easily buy the company, or at least a majority stake. Then, 2K games could be pumped up to produce sports games for Nintendo's platforms. They already have MLB and NBA. They should bid on FIFA, NHL and NFL. Of course they would also have Rockstar and GTA could be made exclusive. Irrational Games could work on new IP's for western tastes. The additional resources of having Take-two's studios would mean Nintendo would essentially have next to no need for 3rd parties. However, it would also mean people would really want their systems so 3rd parties would be lining up to put their games on them. I'm surprised Nintendo hasn't used its cash reserves to make a bold move of some kind. |
I agree mostly with the bolded part, but Nintendo buying anything close to Take-Two seems higly unlikely, even though it might be a good buy. Remember that Nintendo has very few western devs. already, and the few they have are developing Mario vs. Donkey Kong (even though the team were created to make core titles for the western audience) and a DKC game (a fantastic game, but it has nothing to do with the "western core audience").
